1. I went to my family reunion on Saturday...joy... and surprisingly the police did not get called, no one fought anyone, and the food didn't make me sick... all good things.
But while we were there we met this man, who is my hero, whose name is Kenny, here's why...
1. He's 72, and will be 73 in 4 days...and hes in better shape than me.
2. He used to be a marathon runner, he started when he was like 46ish...
3. He ran 6min. miles in a 10k...for all those none runners out there, that is ridiculously good.
4. He ran the Chicago Marathon, and finished in the top 12%, out of thousands of people, that's right, top 12%
5. Now He is a distance cycler...
6. Every morning he rides 64 miles to a restaurant and eats breakfast, and then he rides back... that's a grand total of 128 miles!!
7. For a vacation, He goes with his cycling friends and they ride 100miles a day for a week...That's a grand total of 500 miles.
8. He told us he doesn't know what it feels like to be old... He said he doesn't have any arthritis or anything!!
9. Hes related to me; therefore, maybe good genes "run" in the family :)
10. He gave me a schedule to work up to in order to run a 10k.

This reminds me of a verse I read last night...
5 And Moses the servant of the LORD died there in Moab, as the LORD had said. 6 He buried him in Moab, in the valley opposite Beth Peor, but to this day no one knows where his grave is. 7 Moses was a hundred and twenty years old when he died, yet his eyes were not weak nor his strength gone.

okay really think about this...How would you like to be buried by God... we're talking about GOD people!! Okay I would be sooo honored!! and on top of it all, Moses didn't even feel old!!

Lord, thanks for making the family reunion fun and educational...and thank you for a desire to live for You!

fill-in-the-blank-friday

1. When I get a day to myself I like to wake up early, drink coffee outside and do my devotional...then the rest of the day I like to excersise, make brownies, do a craft, work on my quilt, and stay up late watching Bones!!

2. High school was.... unfournuatly still going on...

3. A little dream I have is run a 5k in under 20 minutes.

4. BIG dream I have is to to go to a coast and live on the beach in a tiny little house and run every day without shin-splints. (like a nicholas sparks character)

5. If I could drive any car my pick would be a Infinti G37...hardtop convertible...thankfully I can

6. A time that I felt really and truly beautiful was when I did my last perfectly polished spring formal, I had a simple white dress, a wreath of flowers on my head, and elbow length gloves :)

7. Tomorrow I will.... be going to a family reunion.......:)

If I were...

If I were a month, I’d be October, Its the beginning of fall and the beginning of fall always smells so good. People would be excited about Christmas, but not stressed out, and girls like me would be so excited over getting to wear their scarves and boots and hats and suits :)

If I were a day of the week, I’d be Sunday. Its a day of communion and rest and full of possibilities about what the week might bring. Plus we always seem to have good meals on Sunday.

If I were a time of day, I’d be dawn. The air is fresh and the sky is pretty and it smells clean. It hasn't gotten all messed up with hotness and its not tired yet.
If I were a planet, I'd be Mars... Because my initials are MAR (Mckinlie Adell Ramsey) and there's a  chance of life on Mars!

If I were a sea animal, I'd defiantly be a dolphin, they're always happy and playful and if they make it past childhood they pretty much have no predators. Plus, wouldn't you just love to live at the beach??

If I were a direction, I'd be South, It's warmer (until you get to far) and all the good songs are made down there :) p.s. sweet tea was invented down there...

If I were a piece of furniture, I’d be a hair dressers chair, because life would be very interesting...

If I were a liquid, I'd be water, its the essence of life!!!

If I were a gemstone, I'd be a pearl, they're classy

If I were a tree, I’d be a live oak. We live a long time, hold a lot of tire swings, are always in pictures, and my favorite tree at my old house was an oak...

If I were a flower, I'd be a magnolia flower, they smell really good and my mom loves them!

If I were a kind of weather, I'd be the first day of fall that really feels like fall, when the leaves first start to turn yellow, the air is crisp and smells like Christmas, and you get to bring out the cute warm clothes!

If I were a musical instrument, I'd be a piano, I've always wanted to know how to play one, because all you need is a piano to make a song... It's like a compact band!
If I were a color, I’d be cornflower blue... I'd remind people of the sky on a perfect day and I'd be a great color on everyone!
If I were an emotion, I’d be excitedness, like the kind you get when you do something for the first time :)

If I were a fruit, I’d be blackberries, it would remind me of picking blackberries with my family. Plus, you know people must love you, because they had to go through briers to get to you!

If I were an element, I’d be sodium, Its highly reactive.
If I were a food, I’d be chocolate...no explanation needed

If I were a place, I'd be the mountains, they're so beautiful and mysterious...
If I were a material, I'd be stone, Its cool and it smells good and it hides jewels.

If I were a scent, I’d be the smell of a fireplace after it rains :) or the smell of a kudzu patch

If I were an animal, I'd be a dog, I think they're the closest to a pure spirit that you can get.

If I were a facial expression, I’d be confused... I am most of the time...

If I were a pair of shoes, I’d be barefoot. (I know it doesn't count.)

Well, what would you be?
